Madrid, later known as Old Madrid, was a town created by MarkusRabbit in June 2014, during the First Era. The town would exist until September 2014, when it would be moved to Uruguay and renamed to South Madrid, due to pressure from Lisbon.
History[]
Madrid was created in Spain by MarkusRabbit in last week of June 2014. Shortly after, MarkusRabbit would create the nation of Tesla.
In July 2014, MarkusRabbit would hand mayorship of the town over to Bradwalker12. However, Bradwalker12 was a relatively inactive player, and so the admins gave control of the town to DONREPANOCHA on 23 August 2014. When he became mayor, DON quickly began expanding the town East, trying to avoid the possibility of Lisbon encircling Madrid.
Relations with Lisbon[]
During Bradwalker12's rule of Madrid, Xexekeli created the town of Lisbon in Iberia. Xexekeli rapidly expanded Lisbon in an attempt to claim all of Iberia. This led to multiple conflicts with smaller towns, who suddenly found their claims entirely circled. DON would attempt to hold discussions with his Lisbon counterpart to prevent conflict. However, tensions over the Canary Islands would force DON to rethink Madrid's location, as it was rumored that Lisbon was planning to attack Madrid.
Great Madrid Migration[]
After considering multiple factors, DON made the decision to move Madrid out of Iberia and into South America. A new town would be set up in Uruguay called South Madrid, along with a friendly neighbor to the the North, North Madrid.
